Introducing predators to Dreamlake.

We introduced some really interesting predators to our Dreamlake in December 2003. Almost juvenile fish that we will keep,for a few month, in a big net with a few thousend small fish for feeding. New stocking as following.

Pacu(Pla Pacu) Lat.:Piaractus brachypomus 15 fish between 8-11kg. Import from Brasil,max.weight: about 20kg.

Pirarucu/Arapaima(Pla Tjon Amazon) Lat.:Arapaima gigas 4 juvenile fish 10-12 inch long. The Arapaima is one of the biggest freshwaterspecies worldwide.Adult fish can grow up to 4,5 meter and can be 200kg in weight.Import from Brasil.

Alligator Gar(Pla Alligator) Lat.:Atractosteus spatula 5 juvenile fish 10-15 inch long. Import from the USA.max. weight: about 100kg and up to 2m length.

Stingray(Pla Kabeng) Lat.:Himantura chaophraya 2 juvenile fish 25 inch long. Native species.Natural habitat is the Chaophraya River. Max.published weight 600kg.

White Sheatfish(Pla Krao) Lat.:Wallago attu 7 juvenile fish 15-18 inch long. Native species.Can grow up to 2 meter length.

Sheatfish(Pla Nam Ngern) Lat.:Kryptopterus apogon 5 juvenile fish 10-12 inch long Native species,grow up to 1,40 meter and about 20kg in weight We also add to our former stocking 70 Giant Mekong Catfish(5-10kg), 8 Siamese Giant Carp(1-5kg) and 100 Jullien's Golden Price Carp(0,5kg).

 

Redtail Catfish(Pla Redtail) Lat.:Phractocephalus hemioliopterus 2 juvenile fish 15 inch long. Import from Brasil.This catfish species can be 1,40 in length and about 45kg in weight.

African Pike(Pla African Pike) Lat.:Hepsetus Odoe 3 juvenile fish 12 inch long. Import from South-Africa.This predator can be 50 inch in length. Freshwater
