 Mae Kuang Dam is a big reservoir, located 40 km northwest of Chiang Mai.We are fishing here for the Giant Snakehead (max.12kg) average size 2-3kg.
Snakehead fishing will provide a challenge to anglers who enjoy fishing with lures.
Precise casting with surface lures is essential
as you will always fish in areas with flooded trees and other snags.
However, the sudden explosiveness of the strike will excite even the
most experienced fishermen. The use of diving lures to target
surfacing snakeheads is another option depending on the conditions.
We offer at this venue 1/2 daytrips.
Itinerary:
Pick-up time: 4.30-5.00a.m depending on the season, Transfer about 40min fishing all morning until return to Chiang Mai about 11.00a.m. Price: 3.800,-Baht per angler. All fishing trips include:
Roundtrip transport from Chiang Mai.
Boat rental, drinking water.
Full guide assistance.
We provide spinning reels and rods but anglers who wish to use a baitcaster, or who want to try
their hand at fly fishing, will have to bring their own tackle. It is also recommended that you bring wet weather clothing along with
you. Tours are exclusive for max. 2 anglers per trip and are available from 1th June to 15th march each year.
